HCMC – Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh has ordered site clearance be completed by August 30 so as to speed up work on the under-construction Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway project.
Deputy PM Thanh said that HCMC and the province of Dong Nai must finish site clearance work by August 30 when the capital allocation issues are resolved.
The disbursement of the project’s key packages (excluding value-added tax) has reached VND15,826 billion, or 71% of the total investment of VND22,317 billion.
The remaining workloads have raised concerns as the funding agreement that was signed with the Asian Development Bank will expire on December 31, 2023.
Following the Vietnam Expressway Development Investment Corporation’s proposal, the Ministry of Transport collaborated with relevant ministries and agencies to propose solutions to the Government, ensuring the project’s completion on time and in line with current regulations.
The Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway has a total length of over 57.8 kilometers and passes through Long An (2.7 kilometers), HCMC (26.4 kilometers) and Dong Nai (28.7 kilometers).
The road will play an important role in fostering the socio-economic development of the southern key economic zone.
