HCMC – A clean water resource conversion program, called “Mizuiku – I love clean water”, has been launched in Vietnam by Suntory Group, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage (Suntory PepsiCo) and the Ministry of Education and Training, in collaboration with the Central Council of HCMC Young Pioneer Organization (HYPO).

Suntory Group has been operating the Mizuiku educational program since 2004 to help raise awareness about water protection in Japan.

Vietnam was chosen by Suntory in 2015 to be the first country outside Japan to implement the “Mizuiku – I love clean water” program.

During eight years of its operations in Vietnam, the program has brought about accomplishments and left a long-term impact on the community about water conservation.

More than 141,000 school children nationwide have taken part in nearly 3,730 Mizuiku classes about saving and conserving clean water resources.

Additionally, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam marked a new milestone for the program when it signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Education and Training in December 2022.

With the cooperation of the ministry and the Central Council of HYPO, starting from 2023, the program will gradually broaden its scope of education nationwide. The program will also focus on implementing useful experiential activities, contribute to spreading awareness, and encourage students to take responsible actions in saving and protecting clean water resources.

Speaking at the launch ceremony on March 20, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Ngo Thi Minh said the program has contributed to raising awareness among primary school students about water conservation, school health and environmental sanitation.

The “Mizuiku – I love clean water” program highlights Suntory and Suntory PepsiCo’s bold action and dedication to water resources protection and sustainable development in Vietnam.
