HANOI – Hanoi City has allowed the resumption of some activities in districts and towns which have undergone 10 days without any Covid infection in the community, starting from 12.00 p.m. today, September 16.
Under the municipal government’s decision on easing social distancing issued on September 15, stationery stores, bookstores, repair and maintenance service centers and eateries or restaurants which offer only take-away and delivery services are allowed to reopen and operate until 9.00 p.m. each day.
These facilities must comply with Covid-19 safety protocols, including disinfecting, making health declarations, wearing face masks, washing hands with sanitizer and maintaining a safe physical distance.
The authorities of districts and towns must regularly supervise and manage the operation of these business facilities to assess whether they meet anti-virus safety requirements.
The Hanoi City government also tasked the municipal Department of Health with working with other relevant units to step up the easing of social distancing and economic recovery, while closely monitoring the vaccination process and the Covid situation to promptly adjust anti-virus measures.
The municipal Department of Information and Communications was told to collaborate with districts and towns to deploy a plan to scan QR codes for all residents, restaurants, business facilities, commercial centers and supermarkets in the city, as it is necessary to apply information technology in the fight against Covid-19 and speed up digitalization in some sectors.
The city’s police department was assigned to work with relevant agencies to monitor coronavirus checkpoints at the entrances to the city and launch more checks to ensure compliance with anti-virus measures. Harsh sanctions must be imposed on those who violate Covid prevention regulations.
In addition, wards, communes and towns must set up pop-up healthcare stations to check the health of residents and make a list of those suffering from underlying illnesses or people with a high risk of Covid infection.
The city government also assigned the departments, agencies and the authorities of the districts and towns to review and assess the results of the relaxation and propose new measures for Covid prevention and economic recovery after September 21.
As of September 14, the city had basically controlled the Covid pandemic, given a decline in the number of domestic infections over the past few days, according to the municipal Department of Health.
The city has only one district classified as an extremely high-risk area and two others as high-risk areas and nine districts as low-risk areas. As many as 18 districts and towns in the city can enter the new normal stage.
