HCMC – The Ministry of Health has asked all residents in areas with an extremely high risk and high risk of pandemic transmission to undergo three Covid-19 tests per week.

The ministry on September 15 sent an urgent dispatch on the testing work and some anti-pandemic measures while practicing social distancing to the anti-Covid steering committees of cities and provinces nationwide.

According to the ministry, rapid testing is an important and decisive solution to quickly bring the pandemic under control. Besides extremely high-risk and high-risk areas, people in other areas must undergo Covid-19 tests every five to seven days.

The Ministry of Health required using the quick testing method to detect Covid-19 cases. Medical agencies can combine quick and RT-PCR tests, and RT-PCR test results must be worked out within 12 hours.

The testing work must be conducted drastically and cross infection prevented while taking samples. Volunteers or residents can take samples for quick tests.

The Ministry of Health also asked localities to focus on taking samples from residents in extremely high-risk and high-risk areas and arrange many teams to do the job.

They should also continuously assess the transmission risk to decide the strictness of social distancing measures.
