Mongolian President begins State visit to Vietnam

HCMC – Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh arrived in Hanoi this afternoon, November 1, beginning his five-day State visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong.

The visit took place just before the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Mongolia. The visit by Khurelsukh is expected to mark a new milestone in the development of bilateral relations between the two nations.

President Khurelsukh is accompanied in Vietnam by his wife, Luvsandorjiin Bolortsetseg and a high-ranking delegation, whose members hold important positions in various sectors, including trade, agriculture, industry, and foreign affairs.

This afternoon, they were scheduled to attend the welcoming ceremony hosted by State President Vo Van Thuong at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi. The two heads of state will then hold talks and witness the signing of several cooperation agreements.

As part of the visit, the Mongolian President will have separate meetings with Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

Mongolia established diplomatic relations with Vietnam on November 17, 1954.

According to Vietnam’s Ambassador to Mongolia, Doan Khanh Tam, the two countries have potential to boost cooperation in fields such as agriculture, tourism, education, science, information technology, digital transformation, digital economy, oil and gas exploration and processing, as well as renewable energy.
