Must read

HCMC – A cold snap, the strongest of the season so far, has continued to grip northern Vietnam, with many areas reporting temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius today, January 24.

Temperatures at 6 a.m. at most weather stations in mountainous areas dropped below five degrees Celsius, with Tam Dao in Vinh Phuc Province reaching 2.1 degrees and Sa Pa in Lao Cai Province registering 2.7 degrees.

Mount Mau Son in the northern province of Lang Son saw the formation of frost, as temperatures at the peak plummeted to -2.5 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures in Hanoi and other provinces in the Red River Delta hovered around 8-10 degrees, according to local weather stations. However, the actual temperatures could be 2-3 degrees lower.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting reported that temperatures are expected to rise, starting tomorrow.

On January 23, about 600 visitors flocked to Mount Mau Son to see frost-covered trees, roads, and other surfaces, according to the local tourism authority.
