HCMC – Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung has been reprimanded by the Politburo for breaking certain Party rules and State laws.
The decision to discipline Dung was made by the Politburo at a meeting held at the Party Central Party headquarters in Hanoi today, April 19.
According to the Politburo, the 62-year-old minister has violated the democratic centralism principle, Party rules, State laws, the don’ts for Party members, and the responsibility of Party members to act as role models.
Dung also neglected leadership, guidance, and management, allowing the ministry and some of its units and individuals to commit violations, causing risks of big losses and wastefulness for the State budget, resulting in serious consequences and tarnishing the prestige of Party organizations and the ministry.
Two former leaders of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs also got warnings from the Politburo, including former Minister Pham Thi Hai Chuyen and former Vice Minister Huynh Van Ti.
Chuyen and Ti, while on duty, violated the democratic centralism principle, Party rules, State laws, the don’ts for Party members, and the responsibility of Party members to act as role models.
Earlier, the Central Inspection Commission at its 37th session held on March 8 pointed out numerous violations and shortcomings of Dung, along with other leaders and former leaders of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and related departments.
Before becoming the Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in April 2016, Dao Ngoc Dung held various positions including First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Deputy Secretary and then Secretary of the Party Committee of Yen Bai Province, and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Group of Central Agencies for the 2011-2015 term.
