HCMC – People traveling to Hanoi from HCMC by air are subject to a seven-day paid quarantine at a designated hotel or a state-run quarantine center even though they are fully vaccinated and test negative for the Covid-19.
The Hanoi government has released a list of quarantine hotels and quarantine fees for air passengers arriving in Hanoi from HCMC to choose from, after scheduled flights on domestic routes resumed yesterday, October 10, after several months of suspension due to the latest Covid-19 resurgence, reported Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper.
According to the list, the quarantine fees at the five-star Hyatt Regency West Hanoi Hotel are quoted at VND2.7 million per night for a single room, at VND3.7 million for a double room, with meals and laundry services included. At the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi Hotel, quarantinees will have to pay VND3 million per night for a single room and VND4 million for a double one. The fees at other hotels are between VND1.3 million and VND2.5 million per night. These quarantine fees were reportedly revised down sharply to serve the various quarantine needs of guests.
Aside from quarantine hotels, air passengers can also opt for a centralized quarantine facility in the city and will have to cover quarantine and testing fees as regulated. They are required to monitor their health at home or at their accommodations for another seven days after completing the mandatory quarantine.
Also, passengers flying from the Tan Son Nhat airport in HCMC to the Noi Bai airport in Hanoi and stay in Hanoi have to meet these requirements: having proof of full vaccination, with the second dose taken at least 14 days earlier and no more than 12 months before departure; or having certificates showing they have recovered from Covid within the last six months; having certificates of negative test result taken within 72 hours before departure; practicing anti-virus measures; making health declarations before departure and upon arrival; and pledging to comply with Covid safety protocols.
People arriving in Hanoi for official purposes and frontline forces will follow the Health Ministry’s guidelines.
As for air passengers traveling to and remaining in Hanoi from Danang, they have to self-quarantine at home for seven days, take a Covid test twice on the first and the sixth day of the self-quarantine period, and continue to monitor their health at home for another seven days, in addition to following the above-mentioned anti-Covid requirements.
