HCMC – Danang is reducing the number of its Covid field hospitals from three with over 2,000 beds to one as the current number of patients under treatment in the central coast city is just over 50.

Covid field hospital No.1 this morning, October 11, took all 45 coronavirus patients and their family members to the Danang Lung Disease Hospital for further medical treatment, Nguyen Duy Thanh from the Danang Hospital, which was earlier assigned to manage this field hospital, told Tuoi Tre newspaper.

According to Thanh, among these 45 people, 42 are mildly ill patients while the remaining three are parents of child patients. Further, 10 of the patients tested negative for the coronavirus but they are still ineligible to be discharged from hospital.

After transporting all of the patients, Covid field hospital No.1 will be disinfected and closed, Thanh said. Equipment in the hospital will be kept intact so that it can resume operations when needed, while medical workers of the hospital will be quarantined.

Earlier, on October 8, the Hoa Vang Hospital in the city discharged its last Covid patients and made preparations to resume normal operations.

As of now, 55 of the 56 communes and wards in Danang have reported no domestic infections for 14 consecutive days and no places are under lockdown at the moment.
