HCMC – Several provinces in southern Vietnam are taking strong measures, including streamlining project timelines and addressing bottlenecks, to expedite the disbursement of public investment capital.

The Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang led the nation in disbursement rates in the first five months of this year, having completed 45% of its disbursement plan, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

This achievement is attributed to the provincial government’s focus on infrastructure projects, such as Provincial Road 864. The province has required investors to establish detailed project plans and disbursement schedules.

In the southern province of Dong Nai, nearly VND1,200 billion has been disbursed for key projects, including the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway and a section of the HCMC Beltway No. 3.

The province has launched a 30-day campaign to expedite land clearance for these key transport projects. However, issues in site clearance and resettlement have hindered progress.

Dong Nai has urged relevant agencies to streamline procedures and ensure efficient use of funds.

Neighboring Binh Duong Province is prioritizing major infrastructure projects, including a section of the HCMC Beltway No. 4. The province is actively seeking solutions to overcome obstacles in project implementation and aims to achieve over 95% disbursement of its allocated public investment this year.
