Hoang Anh Gia Lai’s leader acquires 200,000 HAG shares

HCMC – Ho Thi Kim Chi, deputy general director of Hoang Anh Gia Lai JSC (ticker: HAG), has purchased 200,000 HAG shares to raise her ownership in the company from 0.04% to 0.06% of the charter capital.

The transaction was completed on August 14, and as a result, she is currently possessing about 595,200 HAG shares.

In terms of business performance, Hoang Anh Gia Lai JSC reported revenue of VND1.52 trillion in the second quarter of 2024, a 5% year-on-year uptick. Its net profit reached VND281 billion, skyrocketing by 243.3% compared to the same period last year.

The firm gained VND2.76 trillion in revenue between January and June this year, a decline of 12% against the year-ago period. However, it still posted net profit of VND570 billion, up by 32% year-on-year.

Despite posting profit in the first half of 2024, Hoang Anh Gia Lai JSC still faced a cumulative loss of VND904 billion as of June 30, 2024.

Closing the trading session today, HAG remained unchanged at VND10,050, with 5.04 million shares transacted.

On the southern bourse, the VN-Index dipped by 6.8 points, or 0.55% day-on-day, at 1,223.56 points, with 109 advancers and 301 decliners.

There were over 497 million shares worth VND11.5 trillion traded on the market, down by 2% in volume and 11% in value against yesterday’s session. Block deal transactions contributed VND1.48 trillion to the overall value.

Among the blue-chip stocks, 22 declined during the session. Notably, MSN, POW, and GVR fell by over 2%.

VHM took the lead by liquidity on the market with more than 17.7 million shares changing hands, followed by HPG with 16.2 million shares stranded.

On the northern bourse, the HNX-Index dropped by 1.14 points, or 0.5%, to 228.54 points, with the number of winners outnumbering losers by 100 to 50. The trading volume reached nearly 36 million shares, valued at VND682.6 billion.
