HCMC – The Government aims for all transactions between citizens and authorities to be conducted digitally by 2035, eliminating the need to resubmit documents or depend on administrative boundaries,
Under a national digital transformation plan for 2026-2030 with a vision to 2035, issued on May 11 by the prime minister, the Government looks to build Vietnam into a comprehensively developed and sustainable digital nation.
Under the roadmap, the country plans to complete core digital platforms and utilities by 2030 to improve access to public services for citizens and businesses. Population data systems will also be integrated with databases across sectors to support governance and economic development.
By 2035, the Government expects all major national databases to be fully interconnected and capable of supporting real-time administration. Citizens would be able to access automated and personalized digital services tailored to individual needs.
The Government also plans to expand the use of digital technologies in sectors including healthcare, education, transport, agriculture, justice and security, while targeting a position among the world’s top 50 countries in innovation and digital transformation.
To achieve this goal, the prime minister has called for the early integration of a single account allowing citizens to access all public systems and services. Government agencies will also be required to share existing data so that citizens and businesses do not have to repeatedly submit the same information.
The Ministry of Public Security and the Government Office are expected to complete integration of electronic identification accounts, including accounts for organizations and foreigners, by December this year.
