HCMC – Nguyen Trung Vuong, CEO of Holland Milk JSC, has been detained on alleged charges of producing and selling counterfeit food products, according to local media reports.
The Ministry of Public Security announced today, August 30, that police in the northern province of Hai Duong had filed charges and issued an arrest warrant for Vuong on allegations of producing and trading counterfeit food products.
In late 2022, police initiated legal proceedings against Holland Milk, a dairy manufacturing firm in Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi, and its branches, related to the production and sale of counterfeit food products.
Investigation results revealed that Vuong was fully aware that the food products were of poor quality, falling below 70% of the declared standards. Despite this, he continued their production and sale for profit.
Authorities inspected and collected 67 samples of finished products, covering 33 product types from eight firms, all manufactured at the Holland Milk factory.
During the inspection, police found that Do Minh Thu, the firm’s chief accountant, had tampered with and altered two test result reports to enable the distribution of these products in the market.
In April this year, Thu was sentenced to 62 months in prison by a court in Chi Linh City for forging seals and documents of agencies or organizations, as well as using forged seals or documents.
