Caring for community health, promoting education and protecting children are the three spearheads in Hanwha Life Vietnam’s strategy of building Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). In 2024, Hanwha Life Vietnam has created many new highlights in its journey of bringing practical values to the community, contributing to improving the quality of life of millions of Vietnamese.

From giving love…

A typical charity project that Hanwha Life Vietnam has been implementing is the series of programs “Providing Protection, Fulfill the Trustworthy”, deployed nationwide, to celebrate the milestone of 16 years of its presence in Vietnam.

As of October 2024, this CSR program has donated nearly VND800 million to support more than 1,100 disadvantaged people in 16 provinces and cities nationwide, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Binh Duong, Tra Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Hue, Danang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Soc Trang, Quang Tri, Thai Nguyen, Hai Duong, Hung Yen and Hoa Binh.

In each locality, Hanwha Life Vietnam coordinates with the local government and departments, agencies and organizations such as the Women’s Union, the Association of the Elderly, the Association for the Promotion of Education, to understand the local difficulties, thereby building CSR activities that promptly and practically respond to the needs of the people. Meaningful gifts such as scholarships, bicycles, cash, and health insurance cards not only contribute to supporting life but also are a source of spiritual encouragement for many students, women, single-parent households, people with disabilities… to maintain faith, continue to strive to study and work, towards a better life in the future.

…to give wings to dreams…

In February 2024, Hanwha Life Vietnam launched the letter writing contest “Dear 20’s – Letter to my 20-year-old self” with the message “Go back to your own 20s and accompany someone else’s 20”. By evoking the purest emotions in everyone’s 20s, Hanwha Life Vietnam hoped that each letter can spread positive life inspiration to young people, who are standing on the threshold of 20 full of enthusiasm but also full of uncertainty.

After the contest, Hanwha Life Vietnam continued to donate scholarships worth VND100 million to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and HCMC University of Education, helping disadvantaged students to partly reduce the financial burden on their path of studying and pursuing their dreams.

Hanwha Life Vietnam also cooperated with Hands-On Education Foundation to organize “Personal Financial Management” training sessions for more than 210 students in the Western provinces of Vietnam. This is the second consecutive year that Hanwha Life Vietnam has joined hands with Hands-On to implement this program with the goal of helping children early access the concepts of personal finance and spending management.

One key educational project of Hanwha Life in Vietnam this year is to nurture young talent to approach, develop and adapt to a new trend of the world – the Financial Technology (Fintech) industry. Accordingly, Hanwha Life signed a cooperation agreement “Searching, nurturing and training talents in the field of information technology and digital finance in the Central – Central Highlands” with the Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communications Technology – VKU (member of the University of Danang) and the Green Umbrella Organization (Children’s Foundation) earlier this year.

Hanwha Life Vietnam focuses on investing in education, especially in the field of Fintech

Hanwha Life has quickly fulfilled its commitment through practical activities such as: sponsoring the 5th Informatics Olympiad in the Central – Central Highlands; organizing an Information Technology career day for students; sponsoring VKU to open a “Financial Technology Research and Training Center – Fintech Hub”; sponsoring 25 students and lecturers in Fintech on a field trip to Korea to learn and gain in-depth knowledge about this field in October 2024.

A company representative said: “In the context of globalization and the constant development of information and communication technology, young people with creative and sharp thinking will be the key factor contributing to the sustainable development of the country.”

… and promoting the spirit of mutual love

At Hanwha Life Vietnam, supporting the community is not just a responsibility but also a good culture that all employees and sales teams have actively maintained over 16 years. Fundraising fairs, internal donations, and charity sports activities have drawn enthusiastic participation from all team members, who also work to spread the spirit of compassion to their partners, relatives, and friends.

Hanwha Life Vietnam joins hands to share difficulties with the community

On holidays and festivals such as Lunar New Year and Mid-Autumn Festival, Hanwha Life Vietnam joins hands to bring love to children in difficult circumstances, for example: “Tet of love” program giving gifts and scholarships to students in Tra Vinh; “Love for children” event giving gifts and organizing extracurricular activities for children at SOS Village Hanoi; “Warm Mid-Autumn Festival” event with gifts with Korean cultural features,… The total value of those activities is nearly VND250 million.

In addition, recently, to support the people of the North to rebuild and stabilize their lives soon after super typhoon Yagi, the Board of Directors, staff, sales team and Trade Union of Hanwha Life Vietnam voluntarily contributed VND200 million through the Fatherland Front Committees of Phu Tho and Yen Bai provinces, which were heavily affected by typhoon Yagi.
