HCMC – All the remaining ramps at the Long Thanh interchange in southern Vietnam are expected to open by the end of May, completing key connections between the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay and Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressways.

Road Management Area IV under the Department for Roads of Vietnam said it had completed inspections and finalized traffic arrangement plans to put the remaining ramps into operation in Long Thanh Ward, Dong Nai City.

In the initial phase of operations, only two ramps at the Long Thanh interchange have been put into service, allowing vehicles to enter the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway via Ramp No. 2 on Road T2 and exit the expressway through Ramp N7 and Ramp No. 1 on Road T2.

Currently, only passenger cars with fewer than nine seats are permitted on the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway, with a maximum speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour. Authorities said the full opening of all ramps is needed to improve connectivity and facilitate travel.

The remaining ramps at the Long Thanh interchange are expected to open by the end of May, including Ramp No. 3, which will allow vehicles traveling from Bien Hoa toward Vung Tau on the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway to merge onto the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway toward Dau Giay.

Ramp No. 12 will serve vehicles traveling from HCMC toward Dau Giay, enabling them to enter the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway toward Bien Hoa.

Ramp No. 4 will connect traffic traveling from Dau Giay toward HCMC to the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway for travel toward Bien Hoa.

Ramp No. 1 will allow vehicles from the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway to merge onto the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway toward National Highway 51 or HCMC.

Meanwhile, Ramp No. 6 will enable vehicles from the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway to enter the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway toward Vung Tau.

More than 54 kilometers of the main Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway have been open to traffic since May 18. However, travel remains limited because the Long Thanh interchange has yet to become fully operational.

Currently, vehicles from Bien Hoa, Trang Bom or the former Binh Duong area can only access the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway via the Vo Nguyen Giap interchange and may exit at the DT992 interchange or National Highway 56, but not yet at the Long Thanh interchange.

Similarly, vehicles traveling from HCMC, Long Thanh or Nhon Trach onto the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway through Ramp No. 2 on T2 Road can currently travel only toward Vung Tau and cannot head in the opposite direction toward Bien Hoa.

Vehicles coming from Dau Giay must still exit onto National Highway 51 and loop back to access the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway, as direct access is not yet available.
