HCMC – Tan Son Nhat International Airport is expected to manage 1,002 flights carrying more than 150,000 passengers on January 24, the 25th day of the final lunar month.

Of the 1,002 scheduled flights, 500 are departures and 502 are arrivals, exceeding earlier projections of a peak of around 970 flights.

With over 150,000 passengers expected, this will be the busiest day since the start of the 2025 Lunar New Year (Tet) travel season.

Departures from HCMC dominate the figures, with approximately 96,000 passengers recorded. The domestic terminal experienced particularly heavy traffic during the early morning hours between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., handling over 12,000 travelers.

International traffic also remained high throughout the day, with over 56,000 passengers, including about 30,000 departures.

During the Lunar New Year season, spanning January 14 to February 12 (from the 15th day of the 12th lunar month to the 15th day of the 1st lunar month), the airport is expected to handle 26,033 flights and more than four million passengers. This includes 1.5 million international travelers and over 2.5 million domestic passengers.
