HCMC – Vietnam aims to build almost one million social housing units by 2030 to address housing demand for low-income people and factory workers, especially those at industrial parks.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed Decision 444, setting specific completion goals for social housing projects from 2025 to 2030.

Under the plan, Vietnam will get 100,275 units completed this year, 116,347 units in 2026, 148,343 units in 2027, 172,402 units in 2028, 186,917 units in 2029, and 271,161 units in 2030.

The PM has directed ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, government agencies, and chairpersons of provincial and municipal people’s committees to be responsible for implementing the decision.

The decision takes effect from February 27.
