In the highland district of Nam Nhun in Lai Chau Province, a terraced field shaped like an owl has drawn growing interest from tourists.

Located along the Nam Nua River and running nearly parallel to National Highway 12, which connects Lai Chau and Dien Bien provinces, the field resembles an owl’s face when viewed from above.

To capture striking images of the owl-shaped terraced field, visitors are advised to travel during the flood season in May and June. A drone is an ideal tool for photographing the sweeping beauty of the landscape from above. For a more immersive experience, visitors can follow narrow footpaths leading down to the field.

In addition to this unique site, Nam Nhun District is home to several other notable attractions, including Pa Tan and Pa Pang bridges, the Pu Dao eco-tourism area, Lai Chau Hydropower Reservoir, and the rich cultural heritage of the Mong and Mang ethnic communities.
