HCMC – The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has revoked the rice export licenses of 10 traders found to be in violation of government regulations, according to a statement from the ministry’s Import-Export Department.

In April 2025, the MoIT issued 10 decisions to withdraw certificates of eligibility for rice export activities previously granted to various companies. This action followed an interagency inspection conducted in March 2025, targeting rice exporters in the Mekong Delta region.

The inspection team reviewed the operations of 44 rice-exporting traders across six provinces and cities: Long An, Tien Giang, Dong Thap, Can Tho, An Giang, and Kien Giang. Following the inspection, the MoIT released conclusion Notice No. 83/TB-BCT dated April 16, 2025, detailing the results of the investigation.

The reason for the license revocations was that the affected traders had not exported any rice for 18 consecutive months — a violation of Point D, Clause 1, of Decree No. 107/2018/ND-CP, which regulates rice export operations.

The MoIT said it will continue working with local authorities and relevant government agencies to further verify and collect additional information about the affected traders before taking further action in accordance with the law.
