Must read

HCMC – Storm Wutip strengthened from level 9 to level 10 early on June 13, with gusts up to level 13, and is expected to make landfall on China’s Hainan Island today, while central Vietnam continues to face heavy rain.

As of 4 a.m., the storm’s center was located over the southern waters off China’s Hainan Island, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

The storm is expected to move northwest this morning through the afternoon, making landfall along the western coast of Hainan Island. By 4 p.m., it will likely be centered near the island’s western shoreline, with sustained winds at level 10 and gusts up to level 13.

In the evening and overnight, the storm may change course toward the northeast, moving along Hainan’s western coast toward the Leizhou Peninsula in China.

At 4 a.m. tomorrow, the storm is forecast to be over the eastern waters of the northern Gulf of Tonkin, with sustained winds at levels 9-10 and gusts reaching level 13. It will move across the Leizhou Peninsula into southern China, gradually weakening into a tropical depression over southwestern Guangdong Province.

Due to the storm’s impact, the northwestern area of the East Sea and offshore waters from Quang Tri to Quang Nam are experiencing strong winds at levels 6-8, with areas near the storm’s center reaching levels 9-10 and gusts up to level 13.

Waves are 3-5 meters high, rising to 4-6 meters near the storm’s core, with extremely rough seas.

In the Gulf of Tonkin, winds are blowing at levels 6-7, increasing to levels 8-10 near the storm’s center, with gusts up to level 13. Waves range from 2-4 meters, and 3-5 meters in the eastern part, with very rough sea conditions.
