HCMC – Ninh Thuan Province has approved a VND3.9 trillion project to develop a 378-hectare industrial zone in the southern coastal district of Thuan Nam, aiming to bolster regional logistics and energy infrastructure.

The Ca Na Industrial Zone will be developed and operated by Trung Nam Ca Na Industrial Infrastructure Investment JSC, a subsidiary of Trung Nam Group. It has a 50-year operational term, reported the Vietnam News Agency.

Ninh Thuan authorities said the industrial zone will support infrastructure for the Ca Na LNG power plant, scheduled for development between 2025 and 2030 under the revised National Power Development Plan VIII.

The zone is expected to attract investment from sectors linked to LNG, including construction, electricity, mechanical engineering, and logistics. It will also complement the nearby Ca Na General Port, which has handled over one million tons of cargo to date, Trung Nam Group said.

The announcement comes ahead of a planned administrative merger of Ninh Thuan with neighboring Khanh Hoa Province. The new province will be named Khanh Hoa, with its political and administrative center in Nha Trang City, effective July 1.
