HCMC – Vietnam Airlines has launched direct air services between Vietnam’s Danang and Japan’s Osaka, with four weekly flights scheduled on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The inaugural flight, VN337, departed Osaka at 9:30 a.m. on July 3 and landed in Danang at 12:25 p.m. the same day. On the return leg, flight VN336 took off from Danang at 1:10 a.m. and arrived in Osaka at 7:55 a.m. local time.
The addition of the new Osaka-Danang services, alongside the existing Narita-Danang services operating seven times a week, brings the total number of weekly flights connecting Danang with major Japanese cities to 11.
Nguyen Thi Hoai An, deputy director of Danang’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the city has ramped up tourism promotion in Japan through many events in Tokyo and Osaka.
In the first half of this year, Danang welcomed over 108,000 Japanese visitors, accounting for 4.16% of total international arrivals, a slight increase compared to the same period last year.
Vietnam Airlines currently operates 19 routes with more than 120 weekly flights from Hanoi, Danang, and HCMC to Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka.
