Prudential Vietnam: Building a healthier, wealthier future for communities

For 26 years in Vietnam, Prudential has not only asserted itself as one of the leading life insurance companies but also stood out as a business with a strong sense of social responsibility. Staying true to its purpose of “building financial wellbeing and climate and health resilience for underserved communities” to realize local impact today and lasting change for tomorrow, Prudential Vietnam has launched a series of initiatives across key areas such as healthcare, financial education, and community support, especially for vulnerable groups.

Expanding access to mental health support – Talk it Out

Prudence Foundation’s latest initiative, in partnership with Prudential, Talk it Out, is a testament to its long-term commitment to community health. Launched in Vietnam and Malaysia in July 2025, the program collaborates with Intellect – a leading digital mental health platform – to offer free, accessible support services for those in need, particularly the group at risk of experiencing adverse impacts on mental health.

Through the Intellect app, users can easily access guided self-care programs, chat with licensed mental health professionals, or call a 24/7 emergency helpline in local languages. Supported languages include Vietnamese, Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese, Tamil, French, and English, ensuring inclusivity for diverse communities.

According to Mr. Arjan Toor, Chief Health Officer of Prudential plc, the initiative seeks to bridge the growing gap between mental health needs and access. “We aim to help lift the psychological burden faced by many in our communities, especially those who suffer in silence and lack timely support,” he said.

Strengthening community resilience to climate change

With a holistic vision for long-term health, Prudential Vietnam is actively supporting communities amid the increasing impacts of climate change. Since 2024, the company has implemented the Pru Climate and Health Resilience Funding (PruCHRF) initiative in former Quang Nam Province, which is frequently affected by natural disasters and disease outbreaks.

The program aims to build climate-related disease prevention knowledge and skills for students, parents, and teachers at 50 schools. After one year, more than 15,000 students and 1,100 educators and parents participated in health education, nutrition workshops, school health check-ups, and community innovation contests.

A highlight of the program is its “family – school – student” ecosystem model, designed to prevent illness from the root. Instead of treating health issues after they arise, Prudential fosters sustainable habits of proactive health care starting at an early age.

In times of disaster, Prudential Vietnam has consistently provided emergency support across 28 provinces and cities. Since 2021, over 14,000 relief packages containing food and essential supplies have been delivered directly to families affected by storms, droughts, and epidemics.

In 2024, the “Sharing Love” program expanded to drought- and saltwater-intrusion-affected areas such as Ca Mau. More than 120 households received clean water storage tanks and participated in hygiene and disease prevention awareness sessions. These timely, small-scale actions not only improved daily living conditions but also enhanced local communities’ ability to adapt to climate change.

Financial education – building a solid foundation for the future

Since the 2018–2019 school year, Prudential Vietnam has introduced the Cha-Ching financial literacy program to primary school students. Based on an animated series co-developed with Cartoon Network, the program teaches children four basic money management skills: Earn, Save, Spend, and Donate. Cha-Ching stands out with its comprehensive 360-degree education model, integrating animated videos, interactive lessons, online games, parent workshops, and volunteer-led classes. Prudential has built a volunteer teaching team of its own employees to bring the program to over 1,600 children beyond formal schools.

Approved by the Ministry of Education and Training, the program has been implemented in 490 primary schools nationwide, reaching more than 170,000 students and 5,000 teachers. For the 2024–2025 school year alone, over 60,700 students have joined the curriculum, and 25,000 have participated in the “Smart Kids Smart Money” Cha-Ching competition.

During Global Money Week 2025, interactive activities at eight schools engaged 9,000 students, teachers, and parents, raising VND117 million in donations for underprivileged families – a strong indication of the program’s real-world impact.

Volunteer culture – a collective force for good

Alongside its community programs, Prudential Vietnam has cultivated a robust volunteer network known as PRU Volunteers, involving thousands of staff and agents both online and offline. In 2024 alone, they contributed more than 4,800 volunteer hours to Cha-Ching sessions, disaster relief, and community healthcare initiatives.

This voluntary spirit is not only a hallmark of Prudential’s corporate culture but also a reflection of personal commitment from each individual to give back – true to the company’s philosophy: “People are at the heart of everything we do.”

From financial solutions to community partner

With a structured, sustainable, and deeply rooted community strategy, Prudential Vietnam is cementing its position not just as a life insurer, but as a trusted companion to millions of Vietnamese families.

Through tangible programs – from mental health support and school health care to financial education and emergency relief – Prudential is steadily advancing its journey of sustainable community development with heart, capacity, and a sense of corporate responsibility.

Instead of chasing short-term gains or flashy gestures, Prudential chooses the long path – one that brings meaningful transformation, inspires trust, and leaves a legacy in the hearts of the people. With each initiative, the company reaffirms its commitment to stand side by side with Vietnam on the journey toward a healthy, humane, and sustainably developed society.
