HCMC – Capella Hanoi and Hotel de la Coupole – MGallery, both belonging to Sun Group, have been named among Vietnam’s representatives in the inaugural Michelin Key 2025 list honoring the world’s best hotels.
Capella Hanoi became Vietnam’s first property to receive Three Michelin Keys, the pinnacle of excellence, reserved for properties that deliver a “trip of a lifetime.” Hotel de la Coupole – MGallery in Sapa earned One Michelin Key for its unique fusion of French art deco design and local cultural heritage.

These two exceptional representatives reflect Vietnam’s dual charm in luxury hospitality. Michelin described this as a “remarkable debut” for Vietnam on the world’s luxury tourism map, underscoring the nation’s rising stature in the global high-end hospitality arena.
The Michelin Guide announced its first-ever Michelin Key Global Hotel Rating System system on October 8, expanding its century-old culinary recognition into the hospitality sector. Thirteen hotels in Vietnam made the 2025 list, including two with Three Michelin Keys, three with Two Keys, and eight with One Key.
The Michelin Guide has curated a selection of over 7,000 hotels across more than 125 countries. Michelin’s new system evaluates hotels based on five key criteria: connection to the destination, architecture and design, service consistency, value for experience, and authenticity of character. A Three Key rating represents “a destination for the trip of a lifetime.”
Designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley, Capella Hanoi draws inspiration from the city’s opera heritage. With only 47 rooms, the hotel delights guests through personalized living spaces, refined service, and meticulous attention to detail. It is also the only hotel in Vietnam featuring three restaurants recognized by the Michelin Guide 2025, including Hibana by Koki – which proudly maintains its One Michelin Star for the third consecutive year.
Also designed by Bill Bensley, Hotel de la Coupole – MGallery combines French haute couture aesthetics with the culture of Vietnam’s northern highlands, providing guests with panoramic views and distinctive dining experiences.
The recognition of these two properties highlights Vietnam’s growing presence in the global luxury hospitality market and underscores Sun Group’s expanding influence in high-end tourism development.
