HCMC – Domestic gold prices hit new record highs on Thursday afternoon, October 17, with SJC gold bars reaching VND153 million per tael and gold rings climbing to VND159 million.
As of 3:30 p.m., SJC gold was quoted at around VND151.5 million per tael for buying and VND153 million for selling, up VND4.4 million and VND3.9 million, respectively, from yesterday’s close. The price gap between buying and selling narrowed to VND1.5 million per tael from the previous VND2 million.
At Asia Commercial Bank (ACB), SJC gold was traded at VND152 million for buying and VND153 million for selling, with a spread of VND1 million per tael.
The price of 9999 gold rings also picked up. At SJC, they traded at VND150 million to VND152.2 million per tael, rising by VND4.1 million on both sides. At Bao Tin Minh Chau, gold rings soared to VND156 million for buying and VND159 million for selling, a sharp increase of VND5 million per tael.
Meanwhile, Phu Quy Jewelry listed gold rings at VND150 million for buying and VND153 million for selling, up VND3.9 million per tael.
