HCMC trade dept gets new director

HCMC – Bui Ta Hoang Vu, director of the HCMC Tourism Department, has been transferred to the municipal Department of Industry and Trade to take up the post of director for a five-year term, replacing Pham Thanh Kien, who now serves as Party chief of the city’s District 3.

The city’s chairman, Nguyen Thanh Phong, chaired the appointment decision presentation ceremony today, August 12, the local media reported.

Vu, born in Quang Ngai Province in 1974, holds master’s degrees in economics and politics. He previously served as chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation in HCMC, and deputy Party chief and chairman of District 8.

At the ceremony, Huynh Thi Thanh Hien, deputy director of the HCMC Finance Department, was chosen as deputy head of the city government office for a five-year tenure.

Hien, whose hometown is HCMC’s outlying district of Hoc Mon, holds bachelor’s degrees in economics and politics and a master’s degree in public administration.

Apart from this, Dang Nguyen Thanh Minh, deputy Party chief and chairman of Thu Duc District, was posted as deputy head of the HCMC government office. Minh, born in 1966, holds a master’s degree in politics and bachelor’s degrees in history and administration.
