HCMC – Lam Dong Province in coordination with ministries, agencies and the neighboring province of Dong Nai are ramping up efforts to break ground on the Dau Giay-Lien Khuong Expressway project and put it into operation between 2023 and 2026, said a Lam Dong transport official.
The expressway would be an arterial road linking Dalat City, the center of Lam Dong, with HCMC and the southern provinces, according to Hoang Anh Tuan, deputy director of the Transport Department in Lam Dong, reported Bnews.
The 200.3-kilometer expressway project will be divided into three components. The 60.1-kilometer Dau Giay-Tan Phu section will be located in the southern province of Dong Nai, while the 66.3-kilometer Tan Phu-Bao Loc section is in Lam Dong and Dong Nai. The 73.9-kilometer Bao Loc-Lien Khuong section, which will connect Bao Loc City and the Lien Khuong-Prenn Expressway, will be located in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.
The Transport Ministry had sought the prime minister’s approval to develop the Dau Giay-Tan Phu expressway subproject. The four-lane road will be 17 meters wide and require around VND7.7 trillion in investment. On October 22 this year, the ministry had proposed adding this project to a list of projects that would be funded by public investment.
As for the Tan Phu-Bao Loc expressway subproject, the provincial government of Lam Dong had completed its prefeasibility study. This four-lane section will be 13.5 meters wide and will cost some VND16.2 trillion.
Further, to ensure the synchronous development of the Dau Giay-Lien Khuong Expressway, the Lam Dong government proposed the prime minister allow Lam Dong to implement the Bao Loc-Lien Khuong subproject under the public-private partnership (PPP) model and received his approval on November 10 this year.
The construction of the Bao Loc-Lien Khuong section needs over VND1.4 trillion. The competent agencies are working on the subproject’s prefeasibility study under the PPP format.
