To date, more than 2.122 million Covid patients in the country have fully recovered, while there are currently some 2,190 critically ill Covid patients.

The country has administered almost 182.4 million doses of Covid vaccine nationwide so far, with some 74.2 million people having got two shots and 29 million people triple-dosed.

The Ministry of Health has written to 12 cities and provinces including Thanh Hoa, Hai Duong, Thai Nguyen, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Tien Giang, Can Tho, An Giang and Kien Giang asking them to accelerate the inoculation of the Abdala Covid vaccine supplied by Cuba this month.

The ministry also asked localities to keep a close eye on the Covid situation after the Lunar New Year holiday ends, when many migrant workers return to industrial hubs and travelers come back to their home.

They should quickly detect new Covid transmissions to ensure safety for the community and prevent cross infection at quarantine centers and areas under lockdown.

Besides, the local authorities should continue speeding up the vaccination campaign this spring and ensure effectiveness and safety.
