HCMC – The government of South Korea will provide US$300,000 in immediate humanitarian aid for Vietnam to cope with the damage caused by torrential rains and flooding in the central region.
Heavy rains since October 6 have left over 100 people dead, with some 90,000 evacuated and more than 130,000 houses submerged under floodwaters, the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release on October 22.
The South Korean government expected that its assistance will help flood-hit residents deal with extreme weather conditions and soon stabilize their lives.
In the coming time, South Korea will continue to participate actively in the international community’s efforts to support countries and people suffering from natural disasters as well as other humanitarian crises.
