Hue City hardest hit by flooding

Must read

Since early October, a long section of central Vietnam, from Quang Binh Province to Quang Nam Province have had to succumb to the ravages of fierce storms and catastrophic floods. The imperial city of Hue in Thua Thien-Hue Province was among the most vulnerable. The water level was even higher than the 1999 flood, the highest of all time. Thousands of hectares of agricultural land and fish farms were damaged.

Although floodwater has gradually subsided, traffic in some places in Hue are still blocked by inundation. Many local residents faced starvation. Benefactors, especially those from the south, have kept arriving in flooded areas to provide inhabitants with food, drinks and other necessities.
