HCMC – ManpowerGroup has released its Global Talent Barometer June 2025 report, showing that 34% of mid-level managers are concerned about losing their jobs within the next six months.

The report surveying over 13,700 employees in 19 countries found that the employee satisfaction index now stands at 68%. Job satisfaction has declined to 62%, down by one point, highlighting a widening gap between employees’ skills and their workplace experience.

Additionally, only 65% of workers feel their current job provides stability over the next six months, marking a six-point decrease from previous results.

Although 82% of employees find meaning in their work, 49% still experience daily stress. Generation Z and mid-level managers are the most affected groups, with 56% and 82% reporting frequent stress, respectively.

Thirty-four percent of mid-level managers are concerned about losing their jobs within the next six months due to restructuring or the impact of artificial intelligence, while 77% of respondents identify economic instability, restructuring, and AI as the greatest threats to their careers.

Meanwhile, employee trust in leadership has risen by four points compared to 2024, unintentionally placing more pressure on managers who are expected to support staff development even as they grapple with their own job insecurity.

Although Vietnam was not included in the survey, experts from Manpower Vietnam noted that local blue-collar workers have practical priorities when it comes to job satisfaction: stable income, timely payment of wages, regular overtime, and full access to social insurance benefits.

“They are not overly concerned with having an ideal work environment, but instead prioritize stability and opportunities to increase their income,” said Bui Trung Ket, a representative of Manpower Vietnam.

A notable example is a Manpower Vietnam partner in the electrical and electronics sector in northern Vietnam. After streamlining the recruitment process and enhancing benefits based on Manpower Vietnam’s recommendations, the company’s successful hiring rate tripled from 50-60% to 170%.
