HCMC – Australia is considering whether to open an anti-dumping investigation into galvanized steel imports from Vietnam and South Korea, with a decision expected by April 20.

The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission (ADC) has received a request for a probe into the products, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam, citing a notice issued on April 7.

The products in question are classified under tariff codes 7210.49.00, 7212.30.00, 7225.92.00 and 7226.99.00.

The commission is currently reviewing whether the request provides sufficient grounds to formally launch an investigation.

The Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam said it is working with Vietnam’s trade office in Australia to update businesses on new developments.

Vietnamese exporters have been urged to closely track the case, review pricing and cost data tied to the affected products, and consider engaging legal experts experienced in anti-dumping cases to prepare potential defenses.
