Lowering cholesterol with meditation

Meditation can help lower the cholesterol level in the blood and thus lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Cholesterol is a component of blood lipids (or blood fats). It is a compound of the sterol type found in most body tissues. Cholesterol and its derivatives are important constituents of cell membranes and precursors of other steroid compounds. Cholesterol plays an important role in making cell walls, tissues, hormones, vitamin D, and bile acids. It also assists the digestive system. The majority of cholesterol is formed from saturated fats by the liver, whereas a small part of it is absorbed from foods such as egg, milk, red meat, animal fat, pig and cow internal organs, and shrimp. Redundant fatty acids will become triglyceride. The triglyceride level in the blood is condidered to be high when it is over 2.26mmol per liter. HDL-cholesterol is considered to be good, as it helps protect the walls of arteries; meanwhile, LDL-cholesterol is considered to be bad, as it may cause atherosclerosis, resulting in high blood pressure, stroke, and coronary artery disease (or coronary heart disease).
