The policy, issued under Decree No. 161, applies to public officials, civil servants, public employees and contract workers in administrative agencies and public service units, according to the Government news portal.
The policy also covers officers, professional soldiers, defense workers, defense public employees, defense civil servants and contract workers under the Vietnam People’s Army, and many others.
For agencies and units that are currently applying special financial and income mechanisms at the central level, the difference between salaries and additional income received in June and the salary from July 1 onward will be maintained after such special mechanisms are amended or abolished.
Until these mechanisms are revised or removed, monthly salaries and additional income will continue to be calculated based on the new base salary of VND2.53 million per month under the special mechanisms from July 1, provided that the total amount does not exceed the salary and additional income received in June.
