Binh Thuan breaks ground on 1,000-hectare industrial park

HCMC – The Son My 1 industrial park project, which will cover 1,070 hectares of land in Ham Tan District in Binh Thuan Province, got off the ground today, August 30.

The project, whose investor is Son My Industrial Park Investment Construction and Trading Infrastructure Company, will become the first smart and eco-friendly industrial park in Binh Thuan Province and the south-central region as a whole, the local media reported.

The Son My 1 industrial park will feature multiple factories, a liquefied natural gas warehouse, a service center and a technical infrastructure area. Two power plants of the park will be built on a total area of 200 hectares, with a combined capacity of 4,500 megawatts.

Over 30% of the area of the industrial park will be used for infrastructure projects, green space, offices and utility works.

The infrastructure system of the industrial park will be developed in line with international standards, with the application of advanced technology, according to the investor.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the large-scale industrial park was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, National Assembly Vice Chairman Tran Quang Phuong, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung and Deputy Minister of National Defense Vu Hai San.
