HCMC – The book street festival in HCMC is a resounding success, having attracted over one million visitors and buyers during the week-long Tet holiday. Total book sales surpassed VND10 billion, an 18.2% increase against the previous year.
Themed “Spring of Love, Tet of Togetherness,” the festival took place along Le Loi Boulevard from February 7 to 17, with more than 76,150 books sold. The average daily sales reached VND1.29 billion, according to the HCMC Department of Information and Communications.
This year’s festival saw a notable increase in attendance, with over one million visitors and buyers, an 11.1% rise over the previous year’s figure of 800,000.
In related news, Nguyen Van Binh Book Street had a successful holiday sales period, generating around VND1 billion in book sales and attracting around 20,000 visitors. Similarly, the book street in Thu Duc City welcomed 5,000 visitors and recorded book sales of VND300 million.
