HCMC – Dong Nai Province has allowed buses and taxis to resume their operations starting from today, October 25, after several months of suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The decision to resume public passenger transport came as the southern province is adapting safely and flexibly to the Covid-19 pandemic in line with the Government’s Resolution 128.
Under the province’s decision, the number of daily bus rides on routes Nos. 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 and 16 must not exceed 51% of their total.
Besides, vehicles transporting workers and experts were also allowed to restart, while the province also reopened waterway passenger transport services, according to the provincial Department of Transport.
Inter-provincial buses remain suspended pending decisions and guidelines on Covid safety for passenger transport operations from other provinces and cities, the local media reported.
The provincial Department of Transport told traffic inspectors, the Dong Nai Inland Waterway Port Authority and the Public Passenger Transport Management and Operation Center to check transport operations and compliance with anti-pandemic measures, and impose harsh sanctions on those who violate Covid safety regulations.
To soon bring life back to a new normal, the province is speeding up the vaccination process. Dong Nai Province has administered over 3.9 million doses of Covid vaccines, so the province’s second dose coverage rate stands at 52%, according to the provincial Center for Disease Control.
