HCMC – Cam Ranh International Airport will implement an international-standard operational model similar to that of the Changi Airport in Singapore so as to elevate its capacity from 6.8 million to around 10 million passengers annually in the future.
The strategic move stems from a cooperation agreement inked on February 20 between Changi Airport International (CAI) and Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company (CRTC).
Under this agreement, Cam Ranh will integrate advanced technologies for check-in, automated value added tax refunds, and immigration procedures, mirroring the practices at Changi.
Before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, Cam Ranh handled 6.8 million visitors annually, and had connections to over 80 destinations worldwide through 30 airlines.
The airport forged cooperation agreements with three more airlines earlier this year, thus making the coastal city of Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa Province a major tourist destination, especially tourists from Europe and Asia.
