How many cups of coffee you should drink a day? Coffee has long been a favorite drink for quite a few people around the world. Though the health benefits this drink brings to humans have been proven, there are still opposing ideas about the drink. Studies indicate that up to 75% of people drink coffee at least once a day, and 25% drink it thrice a day or more. The intake of too much coffee, or caffeine, may cause anxiety, insomnia, digestive problems, trembling, and high heart rate or irregular heartbeat. Caffeine abuse may also lead to illusion or delusion, even in healthy people. Caffeine can be found in over 60 flora species, including coffee beans and tea leaves. As a stimulant to the central nervous system, caffeine is present in soft drinks, energy drinks, and in some drugs and supplements. Intake of an amount of caffeine beyond the tolerance of the body is harmful to health.
