HCMC – The construction of Terminal 3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport is set to be completed two months ahead of schedule, while the runway construction at Long Thanh International Airport is anticipated to finish by April 30, 2025.

The Management Board of Tan Son Nhat International Airport’s Terminal 3 reported that the project’s raw construction is 81% complete, with the entire project scheduled for completion before April 30 of next year.

The aircraft landing area is expected to be completed by April this year, while the raw construction of the parking lot and service centers is set to conclude by mid-June.

Other project components, including the installation of elevators, security screening equipment, baggage carousels, and passenger boarding bridges, will be completed by April next year.

Spanning an area of 112,500 square meters, Terminal 3 features one basement and four floors, housing 90 check-in counters and 27 boarding gates, with a capacity to handle 20 million passengers per year.

Meanwhile, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), the investor of the first phase of Long Thanh International Airport, is expediting work on the runway construction to reduce the duration from 23 to 20 months. The goal is to complete the runway in time for the Reunification Day celebrations on April 30, 2025.

Commencing in early 2021, the first phase of Long Thanh airport includes one runway and one terminal, expected to handle 25 million passengers annually and 1.2 million tons of cargo per year.
