HCMC – Authorities have called for expediting the selection of contractors for developing various facilities under Component 4 of the Long Thanh International Airport project.
Component 4 involves the development of critical facilities including cargo terminal, logistics area, aircraft maintenance, in-flight catering, and air carriers’ offices.
The Ministry of Transport has instructed the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to expedite the completion of necessary procedures to ensure bidding documents for the in-flight catering service area can be issued by June 21 this year.
For the aircraft maintenance service area, tenders will be invited on June 30.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam is responsible for seeking approval from the Ministry of Transport for the construction of areas for ground vehicle maintenance and aircraft sanitation, with the aim of issuing bidding documents by July 10, 2024.
Phase one of the Long Thanh International Airport project has four components: construction of buildings and facilities for civil aviation authorities, facilities for air traffic management, essential airport facilities, and other related projects.
Component 4 requires a total investment of VND6,366 billion. Its construction is planned to be completed simultaneously with other components by the end of December 2025.
