Coteccons Construction reports handsome profits in H2/2023

HCMC – Coteccons Construction, whose CTD shares are traded on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, has said that it recorded after-tax profit of VND135.7 billion in the second half of 2023, a nine-fold increase over the same period in 2022.

According to the company’s financial statement in the second quarter of the fiscal year 2024 (which lasts from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024), Coteccons Construction made nearly VND5.66 trillion in revenue, down 9% year-on-year.

The company posted after-tax profit of VND69 billion, a 3.6-fold increase against the corresponding period in 2022.

In the second half of 2023, the company put its revenue at VND9,780 billion, up by 4.7% year-on-year. Its after-tax profit soared nine-fold over the same period in the previous year to VND135.7 billion.

Closing the trading session today, February 1, CTD inched down by 0.44% to VND67,200 per share, with more than 1.5 million shares traded.

The Hochiminh Stock Exchange saw 270 stocks rising and 177 falling, with the VN-Index adding 8.71 points, or 0.75%, against yesterday’s session, to 1,173.02 points.

The total trading volume reached over 670.2 million shares, valued at VND15.3 trillion, down by 40% in volume and 35% in value compared to the previous session. Block deals totaled 91.6 million shares worth nearly VND2.3 trillion.

Among blue-chip stocks, GVR maintained its impressive performance, surging by 6.9% to VND23,950 per share, with over 5.94 million shares traded. Lender VCB rose by 1.5% to VND89,800, contributing nearly two points to the VN-Index.

SHB took the lead by liquidity in the market, with over 20.1 million shares changing hands.

The HNX-Index of the Hanoi Stock Exchange increased by 1.4 points, or 0.61%, versus the previous session, to 230.57 points, with 76 advancers and 63 decliners. There were more than 52.6 million shares traded on the northern bourse, valued at VND1.1 trillion.
