HCMC – Daiwa Vietnam Co., Ltd began construction on a sports equipment factory worth US$40 million at the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park in the central coastal city of Danang on December 15.
The project, which was licensed in 2019, covers a total area of four hectares and is slated for completion on January 10, 2022.
It is the third project of Daiwa Vietnam at the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, raising the company’s total investment in the three projects to US$90 million.
Addressing the ground-breaking ceremony, Ho Ky Minh, vice chairman of the municipal government, said the sports equipment factory project invested by Daiwa Vietnam is a result of the cooperation between the city and Japanese investors.
The official added that the municipal government pledged to create favorable conditions for all investors in the city.
The construction of the project also demonstrated that the city had brought the Covid-19 pandemic under control and has gradually coped with the impact of the health crisis.
This year, industrial parks in Danang licensed 16 new projects, with one foreign-invested project worth US$60 million in investment and 15 domestically funded ones with total capital worth VND1.25 trillion.
Up to now, these industrial parks had attracted investments in 491 projects, including 128 foreign-invested projects with the investment reaching nearly US$1.6 billion. Of them, Japanese investors funded 52 projects, with registered capital worth over US$644 million.
