HCMC – Concerned about heavy traffic congestion, the Department of Transport of Lam Dong Province has announced a traffic management plan during the five-day holiday of Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1).

The director of the department, Nguyen Van Gia, presented the plan on April 24, which focuses on Prenn, Mimosa, and Bao Loc passes.

At present, Prenn and Mimosa passes permit two-way traffic for vehicles, with trucks restricted from accessing Prenn Pass.

On Bao Loc Pass, trucks of over 20 tons will be restricted from Da Huoai District to Bao Loc City between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on April 27 and 28, and from Bao Loc City to Da Huoai District between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on April 30 and May 1.

Trucks exceeding 20 tons traveling from HCMC to Dalat during this period are advised to detour left at the Madaguoi intersection onto DT.721 road toward Da Teh District, then utilize DT.725 road to Loc Son intersection before reconnecting with National Highway 20.

Local authorities will deploy additional forces to manage traffic and prevent congestion and accidents, adapting to real-time conditions.
