HCMC – The Department for Roads of Vietnam has signed a build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract with investors to develop the first phase of the Dau Giay-Tan Phu Expressway.

This marks the first expressway project where the Ministry of Construction has authorized the Department for Roads of Vietnam to directly oversee contract signing under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Law, reported the Vietnam News Agency.

The Dau Giay-Tan Phu Expressway, a key infrastructure project aimed at enhancing socio-economic development, will connect the eastern section of the North-South Expressway and link the southeastern region with the Central Highlands and south-central provinces. The project is under the direct guidance of the Government and the prime minister.

Under the approved plan, the 201-kilometer Dau Giay-Lien Khuong Expressway will be developed with four lanes. The Ministry of Construction is responsible for the Dau Giay-Tan Phu section, while the Lam Dong provincial government will oversee the Tan Phu-Bao Loc and Bao Loc-Lien Khuong sections.

The Dau Giay-Tan Phu section, about 60 kilometers long, will start from the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway at the intersection with National Highway 1 and end at the connection point with the Tan Phu-Bao Loc Expressway. The project will require an estimated VND8.98 trillion.

A consortium of Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Investment JSC and Son Hai Group has been selected as the project’s contractor.

The Department for Roads of Vietnam has instructed the investors to comply with regulations, mobilize necessary resources for project implementation, and coordinate with local authorities on land clearance to expedite construction. It also urged swift resolution of any emerging issues to keep the project on schedule.
