HCMC – A Danish agriculture and food delegation visited Hanoi and HCMC between August 16 and 19 to sound out cooperation opportunities in Vietnam, contributing to revitalizing the long-term partnership between the two countries in the agrifood sector after the two-year suspension due to Covid.
The delegation comprised representatives of 13 companies which are leading in the livestock and food production field, food processing technologies, ingredients and climate control solutions.
Apart from looking for opportunities to cooperate with Vietnamese agrifood firms, the delegation shared their experience and introduced the world leading and well-proven Danish solutions in agri-food production to Vietnamese partners.
“The Danish agrifood industry has continuously been investing in new production equipment and solutions that boost manufacturing output and improve the quality of products, while helping consume less water and energy. Therefore, our Danish enterprises and experts are very willing to share innovative ideas and technologies with their Vietnamese counterparts and look for opportunities to do business in Vietnam,” said Troels Jakobsen, Trade Counsellor of the Embassy of Denmark.
On the occasion of the visit, the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam, the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration and the Danish Agriculture and Food Council jointly held seminars themed “Danish experiences and solutions in sustainable agri-food production” in both Hanoi and HCMC on August 17 and 19, respectively.
The seminars were aimed at providing a forum to connect and facilitate the exchange of experience, knowledge and technologies between Danish and Vietnamese entrepreneurs.
Speaking at the seminar in Hanoi City, Phung Duc Tien, deputy minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, said, “The Vietnam-Denmark cooperation program in agriculture and food plays a key role in the development of Vietnam’s agricultural sector. State agencies and firms can learn about the experience from their Danish partners in their business and governance operations, while Vietnam is striving to develop value chains and sustainable production towards a smart and high-tech industry.”
The Danish agrifood visit is part of a long-term cooperation between Denmark and Vietnam to help Vietnam transform the agriculture and food sector towards green and sustainable growth.
