HCMC – The Central Inspection Commission has recommended imposing disciplinary measures against Tran Duc Quan, secretary of the Party Committee of Lam Dong Province, and other leaders of the province.

During the 36th session of the Inspection Commission of the Party Central Committee held on January 24 and 25, the commission reviewed requests from the Party Committees of Lam Dong and An Giang provinces to discipline Party members for their misconduct.

According to the commission’s findings, Tran Duc Quan, a member of the Party Central Committee, secretary of the Party Committee of Lam Dong Province and Chairman of Lam Dong Province People’s Council, violated Party rules and caused significant damage to state assets.

Other leaders of Lam Dong Province, including Tran Van Hiep, Nguyen Thanh Binh, Tran Anh Thu, and Nguyen Viet Tri, the last-named being the director of the An Giang Department of Natural Resources and Environment, are facing similar discipline.

As a result of the commission’s findings, Nguyen Viet Tri has been relieved of all Party positions due to his misconduct. Meanwhile, disciplinary measures have been proposed for Tran Duc Quan, Tran Van Hiep, Nguyen Thanh Binh, and Tran Anh Thu.

On January 24, Tran Duc Quan, Party secretary of Lam Dong Province, was arrested by the Ministry of Public Security for alleged wrongdoing in connection with a large-scale ecological resort and commercial urban development project in the province.

His arrest is part of the broader investigation into bribery and abuse of power that took place in Lam Dong Province and involves related parties in the Dai Ninh Urban Area project.
