HCMC – Party Secretary of Dong Nai Province Nguyen Hong Linh has urged localities within the province to prepare plans to make use of the future Long Thanh International Airport to boost local tourism.

His directive came at a conference held on August 7.

The first phase of the airport project is expected to receive 70,000 passengers, with the second phase anticipated to quadruple that figure. To take full advantage of this influx, the province needs to prepare infrastructure, tourism products, and projects, he said.

Linh also instructed relevant agencies to establish five new tourism routes to capitalize on the Long Thanh airport once it is completed. These routes would connect the airport to localities including Bien Hoa, Vinh Cuu, Dalat, Phan Thiet, Ho Tram, and ecotourism areas in Dong Nai.

According to the provincial People’s Committee, the modern highway systems and ring roads currently under construction will create an advantage for Dong Nai to attract tourists and facilitate transportation within the province to various tourist destinations.

Dong Nai is now implementing several key tourism projects with a focus on ecotourism, rural areas, and food. These projects include the Mai Waterfalls project, the Chua The complex ecotourism area at Chua Chan Mount, and the Nui Le Lake project.

Over the past seven months, Dong Nai attracted over 2.1 million visitors, generating VND1,385 billion in revenue, up 17.8% year-on-year.
