HCMC – Nguyen Danh Son, director of the Electric Power Trading Company, a subsidiary of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), has been detained for allegedly abuse of power while on duty.
The arrest comes as the police are conducting an investigation into violations detected at EVN, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and other agencies, To An Xo, spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), said today, November 9.
With approval given by the Supreme People’s Procuracy, the MPS’ Investigation Security Agency has filed charges against Son and searched his residence and office.
On November 5, the police detained three officials at EVN and two others at the Electricity Regulatory Authority of Vietnam (ERAV) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the same charges.
