CAN THO – The Can Tho Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority has presented three phases for the recovery of production in industrial zones, emphasizing that once Can Tho City achieves herd immunity with Covid-19, firms will employ only workers who are fully vaccinated.
Besides, when they enter the new normal stage, firms must commit to strictly following Covid infection prevention and control measures, Pham Duy Tin, head of the authority, said in a report dated September 12 on a plan to help businesses resume operations.
Under the plan, double-jabbed workers might travel between the workplace and home as usual, but must make health declarations at their firms and in areas where they live, and comply with Covid safety protocols.
As for zones applying the social distancing order under the prime minister’s Directive 16, firms there must adopt the stay-at-work mode and are encouraged to employ workers who get at least one shot of the Covid vaccine.
In addition, firms are allowed to rotate their employees periodically in a safe manner, while operating at 50% of their capacity.
Firms in industrial zones must also regularly conduct tests on employees to prevent the potential spread of Covid-19.
Meanwhile, when operating in areas adopting the social distancing order under Directive 15, firms might select one of three production solutions—the stay-at-work mode, the one route-two-destination mode or a combination of the two modes.
